In addition to writing advertising and promotional copy, Nancy Kauffman’s feature articles have appeared in local newspapers and national magazines.  “Her Best Friend’s House” (Early American Life, June 2007) received an award in the 76th Annual Writers Digest Writing Competition, Feature Article category.  Her short fiction has been recognized by Writers Digest and Glimmer Train.

Kauffman has penned numerous feature articles for local newspapers and for The Reading Hospital and Medical Center’s employee newsletter, Clockworks.  Her newspaper column, “Reconnected,” first appeared in 2004.  Visit reconnectedcolumn.wordpress.com to read samples of “Reconnected.”

Kauffman created “Pen To Paper,” a hybrid writing program developed to bring mentoring, coaching, healing, and writing to youth in crisis.  Kauffman conducts the workshops at The Children’s Home of Reading.  Since August, 2010, more than 60 boys have participated on a volunteer basis, many of whom choose to repeat the workshops.  Learn more about “Pen To Paper” and read the boys’ work at  iamworkshop.wordpress.com.
